Ten Candles

Ten Candles is a tabletop narrative horror role-playing game designed for one-shot experiences where the ending is predetermined. The world has fallen into darkness and the characters will not survive.

The game is literally played by candlelight, which gradually fades as the story progresses and the characters’ end draws near. With each candle that is lost, the darkness approaches and the tension increases, creating a heavy atmosphere where hope constantly clashes with the inevitable conclusion.

Players are not trying to “win”, but to tell a story about how their characters deal with the end, with fear, acceptance, sacrifice or resistance. The system emphasizes emotion, cooperation and the creation of the last remaining moments.
